i don’t know where am i going
neither do i know the direction to fly
i guess, I’m just chasing down the blue sea
and all i can see, is just another cloudy sky

the journey i know will be long
not sure of the distance though, all-along
i wanted to make some friends meanwhile
but, they all changed their positions in the clear sky

i am flying now for the past whole season
i don’t know why, neither do i have any reason
all i can think is some unlikely decisions
some cold hearts, broken jars and deep blue ocean

i meet many birds when i was passing-by
i asked them all the same questions
and got all different replies…
some wanted to touch the sky, some liked just to fly
they all seemed so similar to me, as if
i was the only one odd there, nearby

i now wanted to reach my destiny
where i can take some rest and feel free
but not a shore as far as i look
i think i'll die in the middle of my journe-ey

i touched my heart and started a pray
i peeked at my dreams now, through the array
it was hollow down there and now I’ll die

and quite often it feels like i'm torn apart

u must have some cakes to cut
some scissors, knives and some nuts

to get what u want
u should have some time
some needs, good deeds and a lots of greed

in the mirage of golden opportunities
its never easy to spot a good one
when u know, u are not an ideal
when u know, u cant get things done

however, i think i still have some chance
being not the focused one
being not in demand
it gives me time, to get off the hook
being free, living for my own destiny
now, never and ever, i cared for my life's irony...!!

well mannered soft spoken and humorous
it feels so right when they are near us
but one day they all spread away like butterflies
leaving you alone when their interest ties
i call them as “FRIEND OF JOYS”

then comes the one who always stands out
they care for u so much but they never really shout
secretly they tell you the truth of your life
and briefly they make u realize your own doubts
….patiently they wait for u to realize
when u r at mistake they carefully pulls u out
not knowing the difference of right and wrong

i am blessed to have such friends

TRP is the criterion that indicates the popularity of a channel or programme and this data is very useful for the advertisers
Presently, INTAM (Indian Television Audience Measurement) is the only electronic rating agency functioning in India. INTAM uses two methodologies for calculating TRP. First is frequency monitoring, in which 'people meters' are installed in sample homes and these electronic gadgets continuously record data about the channel watched by the family members. 'People meter' is a costly equipment, which is imported from abroad. It reads the frequencies of channels, which are later, decoded into the name of the channels and the agency prepares a national data on the basis of its sample homes readings. But there is a drawback in the technique, as cable operators frequently change the frequencies of the different channels before sending signals to the homes. It may be very misleading to read a channel according to a particular frequency even if the down linking frequency is same all over India.

Second technique is more reliable and relatively new to India. In picture matching technique people meter continuously records a small portion of the picture that is being watched on that particular television set. Along with this agency also records all the channels' data in the form of small picture portion. Data collected from the sample homes is later on matched with the main data bank to interpret the channel name. And this way national rating is produced

How To Compress MP3 Files

* Step 1: Open Winamp.

* Step 2: Click the "PL" button on the right side of the player if the playlist isn't already open ( the box where it tells the names of songs, lengths, etc.)

* Step 3: Once open, press the "+ file" button on the bottom left of the playlist.

* Step 4: Locate the songs you want to compress ( they are most likely in C:/Program Files/Napster/Music or wherever else you keep your mp3s)

* Step 5: Select the songs you want to compress by highlighting them and then pressing open.

* Step 6: Now that you are back into the player click the little button on the top left of the player and go down to options, then to preferences.

* Step 7: Once in preferences click on "Plug-Ins" then click on "output"

* Step 8: After clicking on output double click on "Nullsoft Disk Writer Plug-In v1.0" and select where you want your files to go, desktop or something easy is a good choice. After that press ok, then close out of that window.

* Step 9: Now, once you are back in the player and have your selected files visible in the playlist box you can press play. The songs will not play, the time bar should move quickly and then go on to the next selected song. This means your songs are being converted to ".wav" format.

* Step 10: After all files are converted to ".wav" format, you can go to Start/Programs/Accesories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder. Once in the Sound Recorder application click file and then Open. Select the song you want to compress first, it is saved wherever you selected for your .wav's to go when in Winamp.

* Step 11: The song is now open in the Sound Recorder, Click File then Save As..

* Step 12: Once in this window, be sure to add the suffix ".mp3" to the filename, and in "Save As Type.." select "all files". Hold on though, don't press save yet..

* Step 13: Now click on the change button by "Format" this is where you compress the song.

* Step 14: Once in the change window select "MPEG layer 3" for format, and then for attribute select "56 kBit/s 22,050 Hz, Stereo 7 KB/s

* Step 15: Now click ok, and save your compressed Mp3 to the desired location.

You must have thought of copying the whole file to desktop instead of just its shortcut, which is the only option which MS provides.

Now, to do this hack you need to configure your system the following way:-

Step1.Go to folder options>view> and unhide the folders

Here is a stock market game you will love and not only that, it will give you a great insight into the phrases "expectancy", "draw-downs" and "position sizing".

What is the expectancy of your trading system?Expectancy is how many times you expect your trading method to give you a profit. Once you realize the average parameters of your trading method not only does making money in the stock market become almost "scientific" it will reduce your stress and have you trading in a professional manner.

Here's the game:

Cut out 100 small blocks of white paper. Make them all the same size and just large enough to write two figures on them.

Write on the blocks in this order:

3 = 10W

7 = 5W

40 = 2W

10 = Nil

35 = 2L

4 = 5L

1 = 10L

So what this no represents is you M.S.T.S. in a statistical form.

Fold all the pieces of paper and place into a hat.

Get a piece of paper and write $10,000 on the top of that paper. This is your trading account.

Now write down "each trade is done with $2,500"

Stop loss is a t 8% = $200

Write down "trade 1 =.........." Draw your first random piece of paper from the hat.

Read it. Let's say you had some REALLY bad luck and draw out a 5L paper. This represents a trade where you had to exit at a 5 * stop loss.

Your first trade was a 5L loss = 5 * $200 = $1,000

Your total trading portfolio is now: $9,000

Your position sizing is $2,250

Stop loss = $180

Do it again.

This time you hit a winner. A 2W

This represents a 2 * stop loss gain = 2 * $180 = $360 gain

Portfolio is now: $9,360

Position sizing is: $2,340

Stop loss= 8% of $2,340 = $187

Do it again.

This time you hit a ten bagger. That's a 10* stop loss gain = 10* $187 = $1,870 gain.

Portfolio is not at: $11,230

And so on.... draw out 100 times and note:

1) How much draw down your trading method has.

2) How many losing streaks and winning streaks you had.

3) How did you feel when your system was performing at its worst?

4) How did you feel when your system was performing at its best?

5) Play around with different position sizing rules. go from one extreme to the other and you will be AMAZED at the equity swings your trading account experiences and the total return on your trading account after 100 trades. This should really drum into the importance that position sizing plays in your trading plan.

Once you are comfortable with your trading method and know how it performs trading for money becomes almost a "sure thing". Every system goes through good, bad, so-so times. But as long as you are prepared for this and adopt a professional trading approach with a proper trading plan, there really is nothing to stop you from succeeding in your stock market career.

Federal System

India, a union of states, is a Sovereign, Secular, Democratic Republic with a Parliamentary system of Government. The Indian Polity is governed in terms of the Constitution, which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into force on 26 November 1950.

The President is the constitutional head of Executive of the Union. Real executive power vests in a Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister as head. Article 74(1) of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Council of Ministers headed by the Prime Minister to aid and advise the President who shall, in exercise of his functions, act in accordance with such advice. The Council of Ministers is collectively responsible to the Lok Sabha, the House of the People.

In the states, the Governor, as the representative of the President, is the head of Executive, but real executive power rests with the Chief Minister who heads the Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers of a state is collectively responsible to the elected legislative assembly of the state.

The Constitution governs the sharing of legislative power between Parliament and the State Legislatures, and provides for the vesting of residual powers in Parliament. The power to amend the Constitution also vests in Parliament.

The Union Executive consists of the President, the Vice President and Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister at the head to aid and advise the President.

President

The President is elected by members of an electoral college consisting of elected members of both Houses of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies of the states, with suitable weightage given to each vote. His term of office is five years.

Among other powers, the President can proclaim an emergency in the country if he is satisfied that the security of the country or of any part of its territory is threatened whether by war or external aggression or armed rebellion. When there is a failure of the constitutional machinery in a state, he can assume to himself all or any of the functions of the government of that state.

Vice-President

The Vice-President is elected in the same way as the President, and holds office for five years. The Vice-President is Ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers comprises Cabinet Ministers, Minister of States (independent charge or otherwise) and Deputy Ministers. Prime Minister communicates all decisions of the Council of Ministers relating to administration of affairs of the Union and proposals for legislation to the President. Generally, each department has an officer designated as secretary to the Government of India to advise Ministers on policy matters and general administration. The Cabinet Secretariat has an important coordinating role in decision making at highest level and operates under direction of Prime Minister.

The Legislative Arm of the Union, called Parliament, consists of the President, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. All legislation requires consent of both houses of parliament. However, in case of money bills, the will of the Lok Sabha prevails.

Rajya Sabha

The Rajya Sabha consists of 245 members. Of these, 233 represent states and union territories and 12 members are nominated by the President. Elections to the Rajya Sabha are indirect; members are elected by the elected members of Legislative Assemblies of the concerned states. The Rajya Sabha is not subject to dissolution, one third of its members retire every second year.

Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha is composed of representatives of the people chosen by direct election on the basis of universal adult suffrage. As of today, the Lok Sabha consists of 545 members with 2 members nominated by the President to represent the Anglo-Indian Community. Unless dissolved under unusual circumstances, the term of the Lok Sabha is five years.

State Governments

The system of government in states closely resembles that of the Union. There are 28 states and seven Union territories in the country.

Union Territories are administered by the President through an Administrator appointed by him. Till 1 February 1992, the Union Territory of Delhi was governed by the Central government through an Administrator appointed by the President of India. Through a Constitutional amendment in Parliament, the Union Territory of Delhi is now called the National Capital Territory of Delhi from 1 February 1992. General elections to the Legislative assembly of the National Capital Territory were held in November 1993.

Political System

A recognised political party has been classified as a National Party or a State Party. If a political party is recognised in four or more states, it is considered as a National Party.

Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal, Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist) are the prominant National Parties in the Country. Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh, Asom Gana Parishad in Assam, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Bihar, Maharashtrwad Gomantak Party in Goa, National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, Muslim League in Kerala, Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, Akali Dal in Punjab, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu, Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh and All India Forward Block in West Bengal are the prominent state parties.

Eleven Lok Sabhas have been constituted so far. Except for the short-lived Sixth and Ninth Lok Sabha, the Congress Party ruled the country. The Sixth Lok Sabha functioned for about two years and four months and the Ninth Lok Sabha functioned for one year and two months.

Judicial System

The Supreme Court is the apex court in the country. The High Court stands at the head of the state's judicial administration. Each state is divided into judicial districts presided over by a district and sessions judge, who is the highest judicicial authority in a district. Below him, there are courts of civil jurisdiction, known in different states as munsifs, sub-judges, civil judges and the like. Similarly, criminal judiciary comprises chief judicial magistrate and judicial magistrates of first and second class.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has original, appellate and advisory jurisdiction. Its exclusive original jurisdiction extends to all disputes between the Union and one or more states or between two or more states. The Constitution gives an extensive original jurisdiction to the Supreme Court to enforce Fundamental Rights. Appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court can be invoked by a certificate of the High Court concerned or by special leave granted by the Supreme Court in respect of any judgement, decree or final order of a High Court in cases both civil and criminal, involving substantial questions of law as to the interpretation of the constitution. The President may consult the Supreme Court on any question of fact or law of public importance.

The Supreme Court of India comprises of the Chief Justice and not more than 25 other Judges appointed by the President. Judges hold office till 65 years of age.

High Courts

There are 18 High Courts in the country, three having jurisdiction over more than one state. Bombay High Court has the jurisdiction over Maharashtra, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Guwahati High Court, which was earlier known as Assam High Court, has the jurisdiction over Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Punjab and Haryana High Court has the jurisdiction over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

Among the Union Territories, Delhi alone has had a High Court of its own. The other six Union Territories come under jurisdiction of different state High Courts.

The Chief Justice of a High Court is appointed by the President in consultation with the Chief Justice of India and the Governor of the state. Each High Court has powers of superintendence over all courts within its jurisdiction. High Court judges retire at the age of 62.

The jurisdiction as well as the laws administered by a High Court can be altered both by the Union and State Legislatures. Certain High Courts, like those at Bombay, Calcutta and Madras, have original and appellate jurisdictions. Under the original jurisdiction suits, where the subject matter is valued at Rs.25,000 or more, can be filed directly in the High Court. Most High Courts have only appellate jurisdiction.

Lok Adalats

Lok Adalats are voluntary agencies for resolution of disputes through conciliatory method.

Legislative Relations between the Union and States

Under the Constitution, Parliament has the power to make laws for the whole of or any part of the territory of India. The State Legislatures have the power to make laws for the States. The subjects on which legislation can be enacted are specified in the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution.

Parliament has the exclusive right to legislate in respect of items appearing in List I, called the ``Union List''. This list includes area such as defence, foreign affairs, currency, income tax, excise duty, railways, shipping, posts and telegraphs, etc.

State Legislatures have the exclusive power to make laws in relation to items appearing in List II called the ``State List''. This includes items like public order, police, public health, communications, agriculture, lotteries, taxes on entertainment and wealth, sales tax and octroi, etc.

Both Parliament and the State Legislatures have the power to legislate in items appearing in List III of the Constitution which is known as ``Concurrent List''. This list includes items like electricity, newspapers, criminal law, marriage and divorce, stamp duties, trade unions, price controls, etc.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) It is a nationwide screen-based trading network using computers, satellite link and electronic media that facilitate transactions in securities by investors across India. The idea of this model exchange (traced to the Pherwani Committee recommendations) was an answer to the deficiencies of the older stock exchanges as reflected in settlement delays, price rigging and a lack of transparency

Non-performing Asset (NPA) A credit facility which ceases to generate income for a bank. Generally, it is one on which interest or any amount to be received has remained 'past due' for a period of two quarters as on March 31, 1995. An amount under a credit facility is past due when it has not been paid within 30 days from the due date. For CASH CREDIT and OVERDRAFT facilities, there are some specified criteria for identifying NPAs. Income from NPAs cannot be taken to the profit and loss accounts of banks, as per Reserve Bank of India's directive.

Option A contract that gives the holder the right to buy ('Call Option') or sell ('Put Option') a certain number of shares of a company at a specified price known as the 'Striking Price' or 'Exercise Price'

Prime Lending Rate (PLR) The rate of interest charged by banks on WORKING CAPITAL and short term loans to their most credit-worthy borrowers. The prime rate serves as a benchmark for deciding on the interest rate to be charged to other borrowers. Accordingly, major banks and also FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS in India periodically announce their PLRs depending on their cost of funds and competitive lending rates. From October 1997, the Reserve Bank of India has decided to permit banks to announce separate Prime Term Lending Rates on term loans of three years and beyond. More recently, banks have been given the freedom to have different PLRs for different maturities.

Private Placement The sale, by a company, of its securities to one or a few FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS through a process of direct negotiations, or to a limited number of individual investors. In contrast, the conventional method of PUBLIC ISSUE invites subscription from investors in general. The advantage of a private placement is the substantial saving in marketing expenses that a public issue entails. A recent trend has been the placement of EQUITY SHARES with foreign financial institutions for sourcing foreign exchange.

Profitability Index (PI) A DISCOUNTED cash flow method used in capital budgeting to evaluate the financial viability of investment proposals.

Random Walk Theory A proposition that describes the movement of share prices as being random, i.e., devoid of any definite pattern. This assertion, therefore, challenges the very basis of TECHNICAL ANALYSIS, especially CHARTING which rests on the idea of trends in share prices. (See also EFFICIENT MARKETS HYPOTHESIS.)

Ratio Analysis The use of financial ratios for assessing the financial ratios for assessing the financial performance and financial position of a company by means of various ratios that relate to the LIQUIDITY, turnover, profitability, etc., of a company

Systematic Risk The portion of risk or variability that is caused by factors, which affect the returns on all securities. Major political, economic and social phenomena, for instance, would affect all stocks, which implies that systematic risk cannot be eliminated by DIVERSIFICATION. Therefore, it is also termed 'Undiversifiable RISK'. However, by diversifying internationally, an investor can reduce the level of systematic risk of a PORTFOLIO; the lack of coincidence between economic cycles of different countries helps to achieve this. Systematic risk of a financial ASSET is indicated by the BETA coefficient. It shows the sensitivity of return on a security or a portfolio to return from the market. (See BETA).

Sweat Equity Equity shares allotted to certain employees of company either on discount or for consideration other than cash, as a reward for providing know-how or sharing intellectual rights or some other value addition to the company.

Spot Market The transactions in which securities and foreign exchange get traded for immediate delivery. Since the exchange of securities and cash is virtually immediate (to be precise, the settlement would take place within two working days), the term cash market has also been used to refer to spot

Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) The portion of net demand and time LIABILITIES that SCHEDULED commercial banks (excluding REGIONAL RURAL BANKS) must invest in specified financial ASSETS such as TREASURY BILLS and GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. The SLR indirectly serves as an instrument of credit control, by reducing the monetization of the DEFICIT that would have taken place if funds from the banking system were not statutorily pre-empted by the government sector.

Security Market Line A linear relationship between the expected rate of return on a security and its SYSTEMATIC RISK indicated by BETA.

SEBI An abbreviation for Securities and Exchange Board of India, which is a regulatory body established under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. Its role is to protect the interests of investors in securities, to promote the development of securities markets and to regulate the same.

Towards the achievement of these goals, SEBI is empowered to adopt various measures which include :

Regulating the business at stock exchanges at other markets.

Registration of stock brokers, sub-brokers, transfer agents, registrars to issues, MERCHANT BANKERS, UNDERWIRTERS and others.

Regulating MUTUAL FUNDS.
Promoting investor education.
Undertaking inspection and audit of stock exchanges and various intermediaries.

Secondary Market The segment of FINANCIAL MARKETS in which securities that have already been issued are traded. Thus the secondary market comprises security exchanges and also transactions taking place elsewhere, as e.g., KERB DEALS, (See also FINANCIAL MARKETS.)

Treasury Bill (T-Bill) A short-term debt instrument of the Government of India. This security bears no DEFAULT RISK and has a high degree of LIQUIDITY and low INTEREST RATE RISK in view of its short term. The instrument is negotiable and is issued at a discount from the FACE VALUE. At MATURITY, the investor receives the face value and hence the increment constitutes the interest earned. Two types of T-Bills were issued in India, by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on behalf of the government :

Ad-hoc T-Bills (or Ad-hocs) of 91 days maturity (which were non-marketable) to the RBI to replenish the Central Government's cash balance.

Ordinary T-Bills "on tap" that are taken up mainly by banks, for short-term investment or to comply with statutory requirements.

Unsystematic Risk A risk that is unique to a firm or industry. The returns on an ASSET can be affected by occurrences such as a labour strike, changes in consumer preferences, or even wrong management decisions. The adverse impact of any such occurrence would be confined to one or a few firms. Therefore, these unsystematic variations occur independently of broad price movements in the market. By having a diversified PORTFOLIO, it is possible to neutralize unsystematic risk, which is also therefore termed, 'Diversifiable Risk'. Generally, firms which are less vulnerable to macroeconomic changes, as e.g., those manufacturing consumer non-durables (e.g., Hindustan Lever and Colgate) would have less SYSTEMATIC RISK and a higher degree of unsystematic risk.

Venture Capital The long-term financial assistance to projects being set up to introduce new products/ inventions/innovations or to employ or commercialize new technologies. Thus, venture capital entails high risk but has the promise of attractive returns. It is, therefore, also known as 'Risk Capital'. The role of venture capital institutions is very important to the economic growth of a nation. Because of their assistance, new entrepreneurs and businesses spring up and contribute significantly to the total wealth of a nation. In India, such institutions have been set up at the national and state levels. Examples include Technology Development and Information Company of India Limited (TDICI), Risk Capital and Technology Finance Corporation Limited (RCTFC) and Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL).

Working Capital The funds deployed by a company in the form of cash, INVENTORIES, CCOUNTS RECEIVABLE and other CURRENT ASSETS. The sum total of the funds so employed is termed 'Gross Working Capital'. The term 'working capital' generally means 'Net Working Capital', i.e. the excess of CURRENT ASSETS over CURRENT LIABILITIES.

Net Working Capital = Current Assets – Current Liabilities.

Zero-base Budgeting A rigorous method of drawing up BUDGETS in which the premise is that expenditures will be zero, and so allocations are made thereafter, only upon a justification of the true requirements. Thus, this method does not consider the previous year's allocation, but instead, imposes an onerous burden of justifying any expenditure whose approval is sought. In the process, it forces administrators or managers to critically appraise ongoing programmes and activities; this review could lead to considerable economy in inessential expenditure.

Zero-coupon Bond A BOND that bears a zero COUPON RATE and hence is issued at a price substantially below its FACE VALUE.

At MATURITY, an investor receives the face value. So, the return consists of the DISCOUNT, i.e., the excess of face value over the issue price. Thus, zero-coupon bonds are a sub-set of the group of DEEP DISCOUNT BONDS. The advantage with this security to an investor is that, he does not have to worry about reinvestment, since there are no periodic inflows. Similarly, a company need not bother about meeting interest obligations at regular intervals, and yet would obtain tax deduction.

I love action movies. These past few day I've must of watched 8 of them. Here's a list of my favorite action movies:

Aliens- This is the second movie and it was done by James Cameron. This is my all time fave'. It has horror, suspense and balls to the wall action. Most try to imitate this formula but fall short.
Saving Private Ryan- I know this isn't really an action movie but the scenes are really intense. This movie always keeps me on edge even though I've seen it like 20 times. The characters make this flick so good.
Empire Strikes Back -The second movie in the Star Wars triology. How fucked is this movie? Luke finds out his Dad is Darth Vader, Han Solo gets all jacked, dam this one was dark and the action is intense. The fight scene between Vader and Luke is one of the best.
Heat- Dude, that bank robbery scene…have you seen it? Oh shit, talk about over the top
Terminator- That scene in the police station is recockulous.
Children of Men- This is a new flick and at first I didn't want to see it. The story seemed lame. Holy shit I was wrong. The scene in the car (which some film nerds talk highly about due to the camera angles) will have you gripping your seat. The whole movie had me so tense. Crazy action scenes in the end.
Dusk Till Dawn- I rented this movie a long time ago and I had no idea it was about vampires. It's like 2 movies in 1. It's a fun ride and Salma Hayek is half naked in the flick.
Kill Bill Vol.1- I had a hard time thinking of which kung fu flick I liked the best. I could do a separate list for these films. I know some kung fu snobs will hate this flick but this movie is brutal and really fast paced.
First Blood- This movie had every kid buying a survival knife with a compass on the handle. Such a good flick. The scene that blew my mind was where he stitched himself up. Holy fuck that is some real man shit right there.
Die Hard- Tons of one liners in this flick.
